Contact Our Team
How do you address "Mechanical Slop" or vibration at the joint?
This is the #1 concern for flight stability. We eliminate play by using a tapered interlocking geometry and maintaining tolerances of +/-0.005 mm on mating surfaces. This ensures that even after hundreds of folding cycles, the coupler remains rigid, preventing the high-frequency vibrations that confuse gyroscopes and IMUs.
Can your couplers withstand the torque of high-KV industrial motors?
Yes. For heavy-lift or high-torque applications, we shift from 6061 aluminum to 7075-T6 Aluminum or Titanium Grade 5. These materials have significantly higher yield strength, ensuring the locking pins and hinge points won't shear or deform under sudden "snap" maneuvers or maximum thrust loads.
What is your policy on Intellectual Property and Custom Designs?
Coupler mechanisms are often the "secret sauce" of a drone's portability. We provide a signed NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) before any files are exchanged. Your 3D models are stored on a secure, partitioned server, and we guarantee that custom coupler geometries are never added to our public catalog or shared with other clients.
How do you prevent "Galling" or seizing in the locking mechanism?
Aluminum-on-aluminum friction can cause parts to seize (gall). To prevent this, we use Type III Hard Anodizing and can apply Teflon-impregnated coatings or stainless steel bushings at pivot points. This ensures the coupler slides open and shut smoothly without wearing down the base metal.
What are the typical lead times for custom coupler iterations?
For functional prototypes, we typically deliver in 4–7 days. For mass production, it usually depends on the quantity, which includes the time required for precision CNC turning, heat treatment, and specialized surface finishing.
Do you provide structural test reports for safety-critical orders?
Absolutely. We provide Material Certifications (Mill Specs) and CMM Inspection Reports with every batch. Upon request, we can also perform Load-to-Failure testing to verify the maximum payload capacity before the coupler yields, which is essential for certification with aviation authorities.
